Real Techniques Brush review

  • So I bought three collections of the Real techniques makeup brushes,

The Core collection

  • detailer brush: precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or, use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition
  • pointed foundation brush: Use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage
  • buffing brush: ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation
  • contour brush: delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer, soft-focus finish

At an initial look at these brushes I would say that they look professional, but the stand that they come with is a bit flimsy and makes removing the brushes to use them difficult .Each of the brushes come labelled in a darker shade of orange than the aluminium body of the brush.

The actual application of product with the use of these brushes is smooth and even! My personal favourite is the buffing brush! The Fibres are soft and are gentle to the skin!

I feel these brushes are definitely worth the money, they cost £20.99 at Superdrug ( usually there are some deals going) So if you’re looking for a set of affordable, reliable brushes this Real Techniques Core collection is great, I even found that some of these brushes were better than some of the high end brushes!

The Starter Set

  • Base shadow brush: applies a smooth, flawless foundation of color.
  • Deluxe crease brush: soft, oversized design for effortless contouring.
  • Accent brush: for precision detailing, highlighting and smudging.
  • Fine liner brush: for precision application of liquid of cream eyeliner.
  • Brow brush: distinctive shape easily defines eyebrows.

Similar to the Core Collection, this set looks very professional and comes in a similar carry case, the body of these brushes is a shade of purple.

My personal favourite from this collection was the base base shadow brush, the fibres of the brush were soft and thich, application was wonderful! I used the Fine Liner brush for my Maybelline Gel Eyeliner and application once again was smooth and looked great! In whole these brushes applied product well, and again the brushes were gentle on the skin!

This brush set was the same price as the core collection, £20.99 (Superdrug), I feel the only thing issuing is the LashBrow groomer but you can actually buy that separately! I am really happy with this purchase!

The Travel Essentials Set

  • essential foundation brush: Build flawless custom coverage with liquid foundation or concealer
  • multi task brush: for effortless application of powder, blush, and bronzer
  • domed shadow brush: tapered design smoothly shades and defines eyes

I only really bought this set because it was on a 3 for 2 sale in Superdrug, but I was not disappointed at all, I absolutely love using the multitasking brush for powder application, my favourite from the whole real techniques collection, definitely an essential! So I found that this little set works really well with my makeup bag for school/work/going out!

So if you’re on a tight budget I definitely recommend this set more than the others!

Overall

If you want affordable and professional, then these are the brushes for you! Highly recommended- the only bad thing I have to say is about the stand that comes with the collections, if only they were a little more sturdy! I give all these sets  9/10!

StyleEASY Heart Hair Styler

I bought this product recently, I had been hoping something like this would pop up on the market and I was super happy that I saw it on sale in Asda for an affordable £2.

The heart is made out of two layers of black foam and a harder piece of fabric in the centre, it is quite a small bun shaper. To do this style all you do is wear your hair in a ponytail thread it through the centre and then spread your hair around the shape and secure the loose end under with bobby pins.

I loved this product, although I’d feel that it does not suit longer hair or thick hair as the hole is quite small and the donut itself is quite small.

Overall the donut suited my thin dark shoulder length hair really well, my only complaint really is the shape, I think the heart shape should be more defined.
Overall, a great product for certain types of hair, so maybe a range of these products in different sizes and colours as this would only really work for medium length, thin and dark hair! I would give this product:

9/10 Price

3/10 variations
